Secure Both Hasps, Before Moving Car

In “Secure Both Hasps, Before Moving Car,” González documents temporal parked cars on the outside and inside. The photographs engage with ways in which products and goods are exported to the United States and Canada, as well as humans. The cars are used in “The Beast,” the train that migrants use to cross Mexico in order to get to the United States. González is interested in places and elements related to the movement of people in the migration event to el otro lado* and its neighbor, Canada.

*El otro lado = the United States.
